And all the stars look just like little fish

We drove up to Kaikoura on Wednesday night, to spend a little time with good friends Dave and Jana.
It's only about 3 hours up the coast, and we don't get up there often enough!
Kaikoura is really quite beautiful, straddling the coastline, held in by the mountains.
There's loads to do there, but G and I like doing nothing best of all!
We went to the ANZAC parade, and had an afternoon cooking Indian, culminating in an Indian feast with great wine and a whole lot of yapping.
In between the parade and the laying of the wreath, G and I hung out on the pebbly beach.
Many beaches on the South Island are stoney, and frequently wildly windswept, but very beautiful!

My boots are very strange and ugly things I opshopped in Timaru last year, but feck, they're comfy!

You look so beautiful, on the windswept rocks, staring out to sea. All French Lieutenant's Woman, gorgeously atmospheric! Red and blue is always a fabulous combination, that dress is a beauty, and hey, if you are scrambling about over pebbles and rocks, you need some comfy boots, you's break an ankle in 4 inch heels! That 70s suede coat looks soooo warm, and what a great colour.
It sounds like a fab time with your mates - enjoy the rest of your weekend, darling! LOVE! xxxxx

You are gorgeous and I love you in red and blue! The travel bag is spectacular and I'd die for a pair of boots like that, perfect for festivals and car boots when it's not wet enough for wellies.
The beach looks wonderful, it's been months since I saw the sea!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Love you! xxxxxx

Oh you do like to be beside the seaside!

Great location - and that flower finishes off your beehive beautifully.... how on earth do you get it to stay in place all day? My futile attempts have resulted in a limp so and a very angry Helen! :P

Always lovely in red and blue and you're looking particularly vibrant in those lovely pieces. A wee bit jealous of your Indian feast.

Those tights and jacket are the bee's knees! The beach looks wonderful and I bet it sounds wonderful too.

I liked the boots too! The photos of you standing on the rocks look suggest you are a seafaring style queen who has just landed in your boat, rowed by buff, barechested men, and are surveying your latest land conquest...no seafaring adventuress goes anywhere without a perfect handbag!

The beach does look beautiful, wild and fresh...not the hot, sand type I'm used to, far more English looking than ours (and therefor far cooler).I LOVE those tights, I've always looked at them and wondered what they are like on- might have to steal that look. xx Shauna

I've been away for a week. When I'm going through your posts I do not know which of your outfits I'll praise most? The striped stockings? The paisley patterned dress or the fact that you are a diva even when you are (at least a bit) practical dressed ... Helga! You are outrageously insprirerande!

Yeah, you and your head-vagina look glorious on that wild and windswept coastline, my love!

Love your COAT (BTW I have FOUR faux furs ready for Helgastock).

Love your frock - especially the lovely, delicate neck ruffles, and of course, your head-vagina is perfection, as always. And you know I am all about comfort when it comes to footwear, so I say a big YAY for the comfy boots!

Love you more than TEN SLEEPS TO HELGASATOCK2013!!!

A rose for a rose...but I must confess, my eyes kept getting drawn to those stitched leather boots. Stick me in the fan club and send me the stickers or whatever it is you get.

You and G make doing nothing look like such fun. And what a place to do it. It looks breathtaking in more ways than one. I love the names too Kaikoura and Timaru, they just sound so exotic and foreign. I read a novel called The Bone People which I imagine set somewhere like that beach.

Helgastock, helgastock!! EEEeeeeeH!! xxxxx

I used to collect it up and put it on my head and body *uhgggg ewwww* and chase after my brother pretending I was a horrid sea monster. "Oh I miss the Ocean oh so much. I need to get back there sometime soon cause it's been over a decade or so. And lakes and pools just don't cut it!
