Phoney monkey toy money lose end soda hands pink plastic Jesus on the dashboard

We've been sniffing around the aptly named Cashmere, a suburb of Christchurch, looking at divoon but largely unaffordable houses....we both love going to open homes for a good nosey, and it doesn't hurt to fantasise!
Or is that torture I mean?!
This sweet church would make a marvellous home, actually.
I could have a tower for my accessories!
Fancy!

This particular day we checked out an amazing 1970's architecturally designed rabbit warren of a home which ticked a great many boxes except how the hell would you heat it in Winter with its enormous vaulted ceilings, and the fact that it was up for auction, which to me means they want biiiiig bucks. It was on a cul de sac, which would be perfect, had a sunken lounge (!), but had a dreadful spiral staircase.
We also looked at a house of similar era to ours that had my dream stove but had a stupidly tiny fridge space, was on a busy street, had a massive garden and was across the road from a dodgy looking house and an old folks home.

I'm going to dream about the 70's one.....have a nosey here, if you like!

At this stage, we're just looking...it's going to have to be INCREDIBLE for me to be happy about getting into a mortgage again, I can tell you.
We'll see.
We could make our existing home our dream home....but we're pretty keen to move to a nicer, quieter area.
What will be, will be, I guess!

I’m holding in tight to something long as I go

"A skirt so short the whole world's your gynecologist!"
Patsy Stone

Yeah.
Lovely Gisela sent me this sweet little frock, but I felt it was a wee bit long.
So I cut the hem and made it too bloody short!
(Not that G would agree with that!)
I'm chronic for doing that. One day I might just get it right.
But it's splendidly lightweight and perfect for this weird arse "Summer" we're having!
I think it'll look super with some black boots for Winter too, with some warmies underneath.
(ew, why am I thinking of Winter?! That's ages away!)

This 60's hat, I think, came from the sexacious Desiree.
I also have it in lavender, courtesy of my darling sistercousinwife Sarah.

But there's something in your eyes that says maybe....and that's never

A couple of Fridays!
Last Friday, we went out for dumplings.
Delightful parcels of goodness!
I do like to make them, but sometimes it's just easier to go out for them.

(Frock-60's, from my sistercousinwife Sarah, whom I shall be groping in a mere matter of months!, brooches opshopped and gifted, neck pice from cambodia, the pendant was made by friends Claire and Mike)

I do not feck around when it comes to chilli.

Fridays usually entail a little opshopping, last Friday I scored a small JAJ Pyrex casserole dish, a Nigel Slater cookbook, some silverware (I am obsessed with serving spoons) and a red frock.

G bought me a divoon bunch of lillies, and then displayed his flower arranging prowess....

This Friday, today!

I had more compliments on my outfit today than I've had hot dinners!
HUZZAH!

And a little more opshopping; today I picked up another bed table, a little white cardi, some metal zips, a jar, a sweet 60's brooch, a duvet cover which will become a frock someday, and the most stunning vibrant pink and white frock!

That lamp, bottom left, was a gift from my darling sistercousinwife!!!

She tries not to shatter, kaleidoscope style

It's probably not generally known that I have a keen interest in the arts, and would adore to be a Patroness in the 18th century salon manner......despite having little ability, and claiming no knowledge or understanding, I am very drawn to visual arts, most especially painting, photography and film.
Sonic arts is something I had never considered!
Our gorgeous bobbed haired friend Jo, is, as well as a well respected wine writer, also a DJ and sonic artist, and as part of a local collective, has opened a sonic arts gallery and bar, The Auricle.
Not your everyday gallery, I can assure you, and the first of it's kind in New Zealand!
I am all over being supportive, but comprehend ridiculously little about the subject-luckily, when it comes to a grand opening of the gallery last Thursday night, frocking up and prancing about was just where I could shine and demonstrate my support and encouragement. It takes guts and drive to start a new and unusual venture!
Free wine?!
O, yes, that helps.

Frock-opshopped, and shortened

Many of you commented on how very high my heels/wedges were last post-feck yes, they're high!
Luckily I cycle most everywhere, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't survive walking to the corner in those particular shoes!
I adore heels, they make me feel and look tall and powerful and frightfully glamorous, and despite occasional suffering, I'm not giving that up in a hurry!!!

Playing dead and sweet submission, cracks the whip deadpan on cue

We went out for the most marvellous wine sodden dinner at King of Snake with our friends Claire and Mike while they were over from Australia, with their friends Ken and Nicola....
I wisely wore a good eating frock; this 60's number from Retropolitan was both classy and comfortable, not a little unlike myself.

We are blessed to cycle around the Avon River on our way to work each day, and whenever we go into town-or what passes for town in these post earthquake days.
The bird life is wonderful; loads of quacks of various breeds, sometimes swans. At the moment there are masses of Canadian geese about!
Typically, they all scarpered when we were taking pix.
Bastards!

My tattoo is an Alphonse Muscha design, people often think it's a Native American Indian?!

After dinner we popped into Mexicanos, a new bar and restaurant, for a nightcap.
I'm looking distinctly squiffy eyed.
That about sums up the first two weeks of January!
(I had to go to work the next day, dammit, but don't I suit that sombrero?!)

Thank you all for the divoon birthday wishes!
It's been rather splendid!

Inside you'll hear a sigh, a foggy lullaby

I've really been enjoying this 70's does 30's frock, and wearing it quite a lot lately.
The little built in cape makes me feel positively flighty!
We were off to a barbeque this particular day, and naturally, I needed a drinkie to set my mood...

Still on the blue theme, we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Squirrels!
I swear, each time I see these darlings, I love them more and MORE!
Sweet Miss V gave me this divoon square dance frock for my birthday-which is TODAY, incidentally-and I simply had to put it on straightaway!
It's like that with new frockage!
(unless it needs some adjustments)

SQUIDGE!

(Earrings again from Tamera, 50's sunglasses from the lovely Sue, sequin belt opshopped)

Then I had to check Miss V's bag to make sure she hadn't made off with anything from my boudoir....

All clear!

And a little happy dance!
