Pinking out the day - dreaming out the crazy way

These 60s beads and 70s pendant are two of my favourite opshop finds in recent years!

Back in the land of the living!
My o my, I have been blowing some spectacular specimens out of my nose.....
Spring, and I, are ready to bounce about like new born lambs!

In a hovel of a bed I will scream in vain

I am currently recovering from a Septoplasty and Bilateral Turbinoplasty.
Sounds ghastly! But deliciously dramatic....
(It's only minor surgery, and surprisingly common!)
I feel FARKING UNCOMFORTABLE and SORRY FOR MYSELF right now, at day 5, but the payoff will be being able to breathe properly.
I don't look remotely glamourous; these pix must be a couple of weeks old. I have a puffy face and a weeping nose and haven't left the house in days!
Meh, woe is ME!
Spring is springing like a horny deer, however, which is cheering, so it won't be long before I can shed the furry hats and cardigans!
I feel the need to make Summery plans, like picnics and parties and places to go....but, then I probably will just do my usual feck all at home! I am certain I have lost all my social skills of late; all I want to do is hang out alone, or with G, and read, sew or cook. But that could just be the Winter hibernation thang.
We will see what the sunny season brings!

Following the silent hedges, needing some other kind of madness

Trying to poke my face back into shape, or brushing hair out of it?!
Tag on your toe, you decide!

I am all over berry colours; I adore berry flavours.
Raspberry is my favourite, but I like saying boysenboozle or streugleberry best.
Picked up this 60's polyester dream frock at an opshop recently. It goes perfectly with the 70s jacket I have had for at least 15 years.

Bloody thread!

I swear, these boots are the sexiest boots ever!
An excellent Trade Me score earlier in the year. Would love them in all the colours!

Hellloooooo, is this where the Bombay Sapphire is hidden?!
I have some ice stashed in my handbag!

So far removed from all that we went through....

I scored a tripod at a Canberra opshop at our last Helgastock, and I finally took myself out for a spin to try it out-it's pretty bloody awesome! I'd been making do with a mangy gorilla pod, which just wasn't quite cutting it. As I can't rely on having my personal photographer around whenever I am looking exceptionally splendid, a gal has to make do somehow, and this tripod makes it a lot easier. All I need now is a flash camera with a clicky thingy and I'll be ever so clever-pants, but I do actually have better things to spend my dollars on.
This 40's frock is too big and has been somewhat butchered in its past, but for a fiver at a theatre sale a few years back, who fecking cares?! I'd quite forgotten about it, but was feeling an urge for black and found it when rummaging through the small black section of my wardrobe. With a cropped 70s jacket, 30s bag and other modern odds and sods, I suspect my black urge has been satisfied for another year, especially now Spring is looking like springing upon us at any second!

The body is wrapped in shadow, the face is built of cinders

Ah, a rhapsody in red, white and blue!
It's remarkable how often G and I accidentally end up in the same colour scheme.
It foretells a future in matching shell suits, I guess. That's OK, we'll be too addled by then to care!

The green moustache is G's horizontal finger to the corporate man.....

Peepers just likes to be horizontal.

I quite like fingering my "fuck off" bow.

Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time...

My cavolo nero is starting to take off, the spring onions are doing well, my spinach is thinking about it and my cabbages are decidedly disinterested. As far as is possible to tell, the carrots are looking pretty good, but my brussels sprouts seem to have no intention of forming delightful little buds.
It's my first go at planting a Winter garden, and it's not hugely successful so far. The star is some self seeded parsley, but that is not going to fill my plate with home grown veges.
I dream of a glass house and a neon green thumb!

I know you're feeling me, 'cause you like it like this....

I would make a very good bear. A big, snuggly, cherry coloured bear.
Hibernating throughout the Winter months is totally my bag.
I'm actually enjoying this properly cold Winter, maybe for the first time ever!
(although the whining usually starts about mid July)
Warmies, coseying up with G, lots of potatoes, movies, books and sleeping are the main activities.
Social?!
Um, not much. And then largely under duress.
Feeling far too lazy!
But I have been mostly reaching for this wool coat I opshopped a few years ago for a tenner if I have to go out.

Love you, Sue!

Fallen leaves in the night, who can say where they're blowin'

WTF is going on with that intense blue sky in April?!
Turned out to be a gloriarse day, with a delightful warm breeze. Just when I was settling into Winter colours and snugglies, along comes a splendid day to get a pile of washing done and open all the windows!
I had to pop out on a small mission, and had the windows right down in the car, blowing my hair all up like being an extra in a Beegees music video.
O yeah.

More than a nod to the amazing Goody here.
We seem to have  similar ladylike with a crass core sensibility going on, and I find her highly inspirational!
You rock, lady!

My hat, jacket and frock are all from my darling sistercousinwifey at different times, and don't they go together perfectly?!
I got the charming perhaps  60's Australian tourist souvenir bracelt whilst in Canberra for Helgastock 2015; it's slightly broken, but O how I love it! It was also a freebie at a Sallies we went to!
The bag was a gift from sweet and gorgeous Carli!

This world's crazy, give me the gun

Right now, what thrills me is:

My vege garden!
I've just planted a stack of Wintery veges and mulched it and am feeling very like a proper gardener!
Bringing something to the table which I've grown is really rocking my world these days. Look out, I may go all hippie-peace-love and brown rice on you yet!

New Motivation:
I'm tired, really tired of city life, and am putting in some groundwork for a quieter life.
(Ahem. See above.)

Autumnal cleaning:
Bugger Spring cleaning, that passed me by in a flash; I'm onto some long needed Autumnal cleaning and finding it very cathartic! It's amazing how much total rubbish a gal can collect! I'm also finding some treasures I'd long forgotten!
